Hossam el-Hamalawy reflects on the term 'Arab Spring' and the ten years that have passed since what he refers to as the regional revolutions and regional uprisings that took place in the Middle East and North Africa.

Journalist, photographer, and socialist activist.

Hossam el-Hamalawy is an Egyptian journalist, blogger, photographer and socialist activist who started working in 2002 for the English language Cairo Times. El-Hamalawy has freelanced for an array of local and foreign news organizations, including Bloomberg News and BBC.

El-Hamalawy attended the American University in Cairo where he graduate with a BA in Economics in 1999. He pursued an MA in Political Science also at AUC.
