Marral Shamshiri is a PhD candidate in International History at the London School of Economics. She holds a Masters in Philosophy in Modern Middle East Studies (with Distinction) from St. Antony’s College at Oxford. She previously worked at a trade association in Brussels and is a former editor of the Oxford Middle East Review. Her current research project looks at Cold War relations and anti-colonial revolutionary movements in Iran, Oman, and neighboring Arab states of the Persian Gulf during the late 1960s and early 1970s.
